Agribusiness

Agriculture at the heart of Powell

Powell, Wyoming, is home to one of the most fertile agricultural regions in the state, powered by innovation and a legacy of hard work. With over 93,000 acres of irrigated land managed by the Shoshone and Willwood Irrigation Districts, Powell leads in crop production, including barley, sugar beets, and alfalfa, while pioneering the cultivation of high-demand crops like echinacea and valerian.

Strategic initiatives like the Tipping Point Ag Study are driving transformative growth, identifying opportunities for agribusiness innovation, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Meanwhile, the Local Foods Initiative strengthens local supply chains, connects growers with markets, and fosters community resilience.

Whether you're an entrepreneur, investor, or business owner, Powell offers unmatched opportunities in agribusiness, supported by research partnerships with Northwest College and the University of Wyoming Extension Center.
